Why participate?

**Who can participate?**

You can participate in the Godecharle Competition if you:

1. are Belgian or a citizen of an EU Member State and have been living in Belgium for at least two years, or are domiciled there;
2. are under 35 on 1 January of the competition year;
3. have not previously been selected for the Godecharle Competition;
4. are active in architecture, painting or sculpture.

**Why participate?**

The Godecharle Competition is more than a competition. It is an opportunity to show your work, refine your practice, and receive feedback from a professional jury.

For laureates, the grant becomes a springboard: space to travel, research, create new work, or gain international experience.

For selected candidates, the process itself is also valuable: an intense moment of creation, presentation, and meeting other young makers.
